[Women Empowerment & Environmental Sustainability]
Under the Eco-Sparsh initiative, we transform textile waste into eco-friendly products such as cloth bags, reusable sanitary pads, and other sustainable alternatives. Women from coastal communities are trained and employed to skillfully craft these products, creating sustainable livelihoods while reducing environmental waste.
The eco-friendly bags produced provide steady income for coastal women, while the reusable sanitary pads are distributed to tribal women across India, improving menstrual hygiene and promoting dignity.
The aim is to combine women’s empowerment with environmental sustainability, ensuring that discarded textiles gain a meaningful second life while communities gain hope, health, and economic opportunity.
Our strategy:
- Train coastal women in upcycling skills and sustainable product making
- Provide reusable sanitary pads to tribal women to promote menstrual hygiene
- Create livelihood opportunities through the production and sale of eco-friendly bags
- Reduce textile waste and support environmental sustainability
