Eco Artisans - Upcycling Initiatives
Under the Eco-Artisan initiative, textile waste is transformed into eco-friendly products such as cloth bags, reusable sanitary pads, and other sustainable alternatives. The programme trains and engages women from coastal communities to produce these items, creating reliable livelihood opportunities while reducing environmental waste.
The eco-friendly bags generate steady income for the women artisans, while the reusable sanitary pads are distributed to tribal women across India to support menstrual hygiene and dignity.
Through Eco Artisans, Amar Saath Foundation integrates women’s economic empowerment with environmental responsibility, giving discarded textiles a purposeful second life while strengthening vulnerable communities.
Our strategies:
- Upcycle textile waste into reusable sanitary pads and eco-friendly products such as tote bags.
- Train and engage women from socio-economically disadvantaged families in upcycling activities.
- Create sustainable livelihood opportunities through the production of eco-friendly bags .
- Support tribal women by providing upcycled reusable sanitary pads
