Amar Ayush-Health Care
[Treatment and Awareness Support]
According to the Government of India’s 2017 report on migration, migrants face multiple health risks such as communicable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, occupational hazards, and malnutrition. Although Kerala Govt has better medical facility, there are many barriers for interstate migrants in accessing it, which include language barriers, inconvenient timing due to long working hours, financial issues and lack of awareness about Govt. facilities.
The aim of this project is to popularise preventive measures on health and hygiene among migrants and marginalised communities. Amar Saath reaches out to the migrant workers at a time and location convenient to them, with a team who can communicate to the workers.
Our strategy:
- Conduct medical camp at different parts of Kerala
- Provide awareness about drug/alcohol usage as well as hygiene
- Provide Free medicines
- Follow up medical services
